What is a magic shop generator for 5e

The DmsTinyHut magic shop generator for D&D 5e is a tool to help you fill a magic shop with interesting and not so common inventory. It uses magic items grouped by their rarity to generate a store based on your given preferences.

What can a magic shop generator do for you

Besides generating inventory for you, the magic shop generator can help you track the inventory of your shop when you save the shop in your account. When you are in need of a diverse and unique shopkeep to plug and play into your campaign, you can also use the NPC generator feature to help you do just that.

How to use the magic shop generator

  1. Generate your store

When you are ready to use the generator you can select one the available preset or create a custom list of inventory preferences. Hit Generate Shop! and let our algorithm do its magic. Note: This algorithm is not based on AI, it is just our programming doing smart things.

After the generator is done you can either generate it again or save your store.

  1. Saving your store

After saving your store you are sent to a page where you can manage the inventory of the store, remove certain magic items and add new magic items. This way you can keep using this store even after you have sold some of the items there.

This is also the location you can generate your unique and diverse shopkeep. You filter for a certain race, D&D race, gender or sexuality and let the NPC generator do its magic.

If you want to give your players access to the store page you can copy the URL and send it to your players for a unique read only version of the store for your players to browse.

When to use a magic shop generator

Scenario 1 traveling merchant

Lets say your players are on the road and instead of throwing a cabbage salesperson at them you want to let them interact with a wily traveling magic item salesperson. You can use our NPC generator and Shop generator. To help you with the inspiration you need for this interaction on the fly. You can then spice this encounter up by maybe making the salesperson an illusion and the actual seller be hidden in the cart for their safety. Or maybe you can have the salesperson have every item locked away in a pocket dimension inside paper scrolls so you can hand your players a catalog with all your generated inventory. This way the encounter will not only be useful but also memorable for your players.

Scenario 2 you are designing a new city

When you are designing a new city you have a ton of things to consider. Our magic shop generator can help you take away some of the stress by giving you inspiration for the inventory of the store. Maybe it will generate a ton of scrolls and you think of an awesome magic library. Or it generates multiple rings and necklaces and you can make a magic jeweler. Let us help you get inspired by playing around with the settings until something inspires you. You can create an infinite amount of new inventories.

I hope this post helped you along your way to create an amazing and unforgettable magic shop! Make sure to use the shop generator and let me know if it helped you! Reach out via X or email if you have any suggestions for this tool.
